Children/Youth/Young Adults
Concentrate on improving the reading and math skills of students, kindergarten thru 8th grade. Teach courses on ACT and SAT testing for high school students to improve their chances for college scholarships. Tutor and Promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEM) as viable career paths. Instill and teach basic life skills like home economics, car maintenance, check balancing and violence prevention.
Entrepreneurship
Support and serve as an incubator for new and fledgling businesses. Teach, mentor, assist and facilitate as appropriate with marketing, business management, taxes, improving credit scores, and finance.
Housing
Present free classes on first time home ownership, the steps and lending criteria to purchase a home. Knowing what you can afford, down payments, and home maintenance. Access your credit bureau report through Equifax, Experian, or Transunion and know your FICO score.
Employment
Teaching and tutor prospective new hires on the barriers that block employment (poor resumes, attire and appearance, no negative social media posts, etc.) Overcoming barriers (prison record, poor credit, poor previous record of employment, no employment record) that block employment opportunities. How to handle the employment interview.
Economic Empowerment
Provide resources to assist with credit repair, taxes, rent/utilities. Also offer training classes on money management, budgeting, retirement planning, investment strategies, generational wealth, legacy planning, and burial expenses.
Seniors
Computer Literacy courses, fraud watch and how to avoid scam artists, fitness ideas to keep healthy and prolong your golden years. Affordable living options for seniors (Stay in your home versus downsizing, pros and cons). Managing important documents. Tips on planning for a happy healthy retirement life.
Health/Nutrition
Offer health screenings i.e., mammograms, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other baseline health measurements. Provide healthy foods by accessing community gardens, and other food donation programs.
Men/Women/Veterans
Provide counseling and access to programs to those struggling with homelessness, substance and alcohol abuse, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, domestic violence, homicide, and suicide; keying in on veterans who are struggling to reassimilate after years of military experience.
